Para el Nuevo Día

No se trata de ‘ciencia-ficción’, pero este libro, escrito por un científico que es el director del Observatorio de Arecibo, resulta tan apasionante como una novela de ese género y es mucho más impresionante, porque trata de la realidad cósmica en la que estamos insertos.

Recientemente compré y estoy leyendo el excelente libro “Mokita en blanco y negro” del Dr. Daniel Altschuler , físico de la Universidad de Puerto Rico y ex-Director del Observatorio de Arecibo. Altschuler es otro de esos raros científicos que no solo se preocupa por algún problema científico de interés para la comunidad de los expertos en estas áreas, sino por educar y divulgar la ciencia a la gente que no son científicos Es de la estirpe de Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein y varios otros físicos, que además se han hecho escritores famosos por libros “best-seller” de ciencia popular (sin ecuaciones matemáticas, aunque no siempre eso quiere decir que son fácilmente inteligibles). El libro lo encuentran en las librerías La Tertulia o Norberto Gónzalez en el pueblo de Río Piedras, o escribiéndole al autor a daniel@naic.edu.
